Our clear grade brazilian cherry has very minimal color and grain variation. Most exotic woods are very oily and that adds another element to finishing exotic woods. Color varies from yellowish hues to pink reds to dark reds with black striping. Brazilian cherry lite is actually a different species.

The darker streaks give it an exotic expression. Enjoy the benefits of brazilian cherry while toning down the reds by staining with a dark water based stain. Very hard and durable flooring with a deep red brown cherry appearance. Go darker with a very dark stain first the easier way to eliminate and drown out the redness is brazilian cherry or mahogany or american cherry is to simply use a darker stain to camouflage the redness.

Then we started to stain the hardwood with our custom stain color. Heartwood has a red to orange brown hue in the beginning which deepens to a reddish brown with age. Once that was allowed to dry we applied a sealer to lock in the color and block any oil that naturally occurs in brazilian cherry. Water and oil based stains are available.

Directional grain variations exist in brazilian cherry wood and any stain will enhance the grain.
