If independent power does not turn it on then you have a failed nbsp carefree motor and it will need replacing. This chord should not move you need to keep it intact in its position. You also need to check the awning chord that is placed along with the screws on the awning rail. Another reason your awning in not retracting good could be the screws on the awning chord.

Check and fix later. But when you are about to leave the camping site or in the middle of camping that s the emergency thing you can do. You obviously will have to check on the awning later for the reason why it didn t close back. Next put the cap back and press it with force and try tapping in gently to put it properly.

Carefree s electric awnings also come with optional direct response electronics that sense the canopy s motion and automatically retract the awning when this motion gets beyond a predetermined threshold. If it works off of independent power then it s the wiring or the switch. Our powered 12v or 110v awnings will open and close with just the push of a button.
